R.Tech staff has participated to the Workshop on Non-equilibrium Flow Phenomena in Honor of our late colleague and friend Prof. Mikhail Ivanov. The workshop, organised by Novosibirsk State University
and the Khristianovich Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, was held in Akademgorodok, Novosibirsk, Russia, from June 15-18, 2015. The work on flow control by energy deposition has been presented to the international audience. Simulations have been performed in the framework of the SINAPS research program using the MISTRAL flow solver. In this first phase of the study the goal was to reproduce the flow phenomena by fitting the thermal efficiency of the energy deposition device in a way to match with the experimental wall pressures. The final goal is to be able to include an energy deposition model in order to make predictive simulations.
