Although sometimes neglected, preprocessing is a critical phase in the numerical simulation process.
A good mesh will improve drastically the accuracy and the convergence of the simulation.
A good mesh is thus the best way to achieve high end simulations in the shortest computational time.

GridPro is multiblock structured mesh generator with some very nice automatic features which makes grid generation a lot more easier and faster.

Hybrid Mesh

For some specific studies where very high accuracy is not the main requirement, R.Tech has also developed an hybrid mesh generation process which allows to handle a very large number of cases, including the most complex ones.

The objective of this technique is to create a high quality background mesh using GridPro, followed by a refinement and cut-cell algorithm in regions of high geometrical complexity. Typically this is used for regions that are hard to mesh, but where the user is not interested in a very accurate resolution of the boundary layer. One example is shown in the slider, where the goal of the study was to study ground effects of the helicopter down-wash. The boundary layer of the helicopter was considered less important than the blockage effect caused by its shape.
